Consider these not so much as rules but more as guidelines.
1) Play them as close to the book as possible.[/u] It is an obvious rule, I know. What I mean by this is referencing back to books so as to be sure if something is done that way or not. It will be helpful for you and for me if trouble arises. Of course, I am fully aware that sometimes people just don't have the time for such things. I am not asking you to mirror the books completely, but the basics are a must.
2) Make sure that the powers your vampire has go along with his or her history.[/u] For instance, if your vampire just spent time under Belle Morte alone (assuming it's a master vampire), then he/she will most likely have Taste of Lust as it is a gift that is only passed down Belle Morte's line. He or she will not have Taste of Fear as that is not a gift of Belle Morte's line.
3) There are no god-like vampires.[/u] What I mean by this is that all vampires have the ability to be destroyed. No matter who it is, if you had gotten a deadly blow that in no way could have left you alive; you are dead. This will of course be determined through scripted fights (see next rule about scripted fights).
4) Fights that leave a character dead, or alter something in a large way, when it comes to the RP, must be scripted.[/u] I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, as I know that when you RP you want to have fun and don't really want the burden of scripting or any other such things. As an unbelievably lazy person myself, I'm fully aware of that, but this would make it ten times easier on me and the Mods that would most likely become involved if it grew into a big problem. All I'm asking is for you to script the parts that were most important, if you can't script the entire thing. At KCS things are wanted to be done as fair as possible, and even though sometimes it's not done that way, we try our hardest.
Alright, when other rules arise they will be posted here, and I will expect you to know them if they are posted up here. Thank's for taking the time to read this, by the way.

The Vampire Rules

1. The Eyes: A Vampire's eyes are literally an uncontrolable power. When a lesser being gazes into them, i.e. a human, moderate lycan, fae, etc. makes eyecontact with a Vampire they will be drawn into them. This is called Rolling the Mind and it does happen almost instantly. The stronger and more experienced a Vampire is, they can control how deep the mind is rolled. A full rolling of someone's mind puts that being into a state of bliss as some have said it is the greatest feeling they have ever felt of the purest relaxation and nirvana. That is the lure and more so the drug for Vampire Junkie's/Coffin Bait.

2. Feeding: A Vampire must feed. They feed off of blood, warm, substaning life-force. The Law states that the 'Donor' must be Willing to do so, if a Vampire was to feed from an unwilling Donor then that would bring upon them a Warrant of Execution. When a Vampire feeds they Do Not,/b. kill the Donor, in fact it is roughly impossible for a Vampire to accidentally kill a Donor by just taking blood from them. A Vampire Can Not eat or drink anything else, some have speculated blood mixed with other liquids, this can be done by having three parts blood, and one part thin liquid. A Vampire's Bite is not easily healed, not even by a Lycan, the puncture wounds take roughly three days to close and another four to fully heal back as it would be just like being stabbed by two inkpens.

3. Sunlight: Vampires Can Not go out into the sun. There are those very, very rare Vampires that can get near sunlight, however direct sunlight is extremely deadly to a Vampire. When a Vampire is exposed to sunlight, sometimes even indirectly the Vampire will combust into intense flames that Can Not be extinguished by any means, no water, no smothering them, nothing can put the flames out until every part of the Vampire has been turned to embers and ash. Once the Vampire perishes from the Sunlight's Death, not even a Necromancer could raise their ashes, for Sunlight is the most deadliest of things to a Vampire, thus the reason a Vampire can actually feel when they are getting close to Sunlight and do everything in their power to get away from it.

4. Slumber: Vampires literally die at Sunrise. Their bodies become literal corpses when daybreak occurs and they remain as just corpses until the sun sets. Very Powerful Vampires can in fact push past that Sunrise death, however during Daylight hours these Vampires are still weakened, and no ammount of Powerbase, blood, Necromancy nor magic can change that. The Vampire can move about, walk around as they see fit, however Sunlight still effects them so the Vampire must remain away from it. Most who have encountered even one place of Slumber for a Vampire describes the scent as being much like a Snake Pit, or the Vampire carrying the scent of a snake for their flesh is cold, smooth and lifeless.

5. Holy Items: Yes, some of the greatest defense against a Vampire is indeed Holy Items. However, if there is no Holy/Spiritual Faith from the holder/weilder of that Holy Item, then the effects will be minimal and that normally just angers the Vampire. When a Holy Item is shown to a Vampire it is literally painful for that Vampire to look at the holder/weilder of the Holy Item. When Faith is backed behind the Holy Item, that Holy Item will literally glow, the more Faith the holder/weilder has, the brighter the glow will be as this is one of the greatest ways to get the Vampire to flee as yes, All Vampires feel the terrible pain and agony a Holy Item gives them. Blessed Water is like Acid to a Vampire's flesh, it literally begins to melt, rot and decompose their flesh right there, burning and eating it away like rose petals in a bucket of Acid. When a Vampire is wounded by a Holy Item that wound will heal Humanly/Mortally slow, there is no exceptions to this.

6. Healing: The Vampire can heal at amazing speeds. They even reform torn and broken flesh, muscles, even organ tissue almost instantly. However, if a Vampire is badly injured and the wound is Carterized, i.e. burned, seared, molten or a Holy Item is placed to the wound, it Will Not heal properly. Also, there are certain kinds of inflictions a Vampire can take that will heal Humanly/Mortally Slow, they are: Silver, Lycanthrope Teeth/Claws, Holy Item and Fire. Very, very rarely will a Vampire be immune to Silver, also a Pyrokenetic turned into a Vampire will be immune to Fire itself, as again this is a very, very rare thing. As a side note Vampires are Not allergic to Garlic, in fact most are very indifferent to Garlic of any kind, also Vampires do infact cast reflections.

7. Residences/Dwellings: Most Vampires find themselves drawn to dwelling in underground places, this is one of many prime showings of a Vampire's intelligence. In a windowless, underground dwelling it becomes the safest place for a Vampire to Slumber, or for those Vampires who can remain animate after Sunrise, they can move about freely without worry of the Sunlight accidentally coming in. Most Modern Vampires choose to remain in Above Ground Dwellings, most accolate this to the Vampire being Materialistic and predict that in time All Vampires will choose to be underground. Also, a Vampire Can Not enter a living beings' Residence without an Invitation from someone who actually lives in the Residence. This excludes of course any form of Public Boarding, i.e. Motel, Hotel, Bed&Breakfast, etc. Upon being inviting into the Residence the Vampire will be able to come in and out of that Residence as they please. However, if that living being Revokes their invitation and the Vampire is within the Residence, instantly the Vampire will be thrust out of the nearest door by an Unseen Force and the door closed. Every Residence that does have living beings residing there, there is No Way for a Vampire to enter that Residence at all without an invitation.

8. Master of the City: In order to become Master of the City one must challenge the present Master of the City for the position. If there happens to be no Master of the City at the time, then it becomes much like a political game. The Kansas City Metropolitan Area is infact Taboo, no longer under the reign of those whom set this system forth, and may not apply to this system, however the powerbasing is still the same. When a Vampire steps into the reign over a City/Territory, with it comes the responsibility, much like being the Mayor of a city... but much, much futher. The perks to being the Master of a City include gaining a higher level of inner power to strengthen the outward powers and perks. The Master of a City can feel every single Vampire who acknowledges that Vampire as their Master of the City, it has been described as 'Background Noise', and when concentrated the Master of the City can focus in upon one or more Vampires to sense them. If the Master of the City is powerful enough, they can even communicate with their Vampires from a distance within the City. Death, final and absolute Death is the only way to gain... or lose the position of Master of the City when one stands their ground. However there have been too many times in the past that a Master of the City abandons their City and that leaves it open for a Takeover. In the event of a Takeover, the Vampire staking claim to a City/Territory must infact prove to the Vampires of that City/Territory they are worthy of it, even to the point of fighting all those who also wish the position to the final and absolute death.

9. Powerbase: The Vampire's Powerbase is that which keeps the Vampire animate. The average Vampire solely relies upon themselves to be part of a greater whole, that being the city and Master of the City they reside under. As for Master Vampires go their Powerbase is extremely important, it could be their Bound Servants, or on rare occasions, other Vampires that serve beneath them within a City they reside in, however are -Not- the Master of that City. To those Vampires who do this either must get permission from their Master of the City... or they must be prepared to face the wrath of the Master of the City. No one truely knows where the Vampire's powerbase starts, a form of metaphysical magic that Preternaturals claim only upon the supernatural level, or in other words... no one has been able to explain it... yet.

10. Creation: When being turned into a Vampire, that person must be fed from by the same Vampire three nights in a row with the express intent of creating a Vampire. There are no 'Accidental' turnings, when a Vampire is created, their creator knew full-well that they were indeed turning the mortal into a Vampire. And yes, only a Mortal can be turned into a Vampire. There is only one exception to the Three Nights, and that is if a Human is attacked by four or more Vampires and one of the Vampires is a Master Vampire, only then will that person die and arise the next evening violently as a Vampire. On the night of becoming an actual Vampire, the deceased will rise as a Vampire, confused and hungry. In these Modern Times there is normally a member of The Church of Eternal Life awaiting in a Morgue to help explain to the newly risen Vampire of what they are feeling. In other cases if they are a victim of a brutal attack there will be an Order of Execution for that Vampire to be destroyed.

11. The Church of Eternal Life: This is still a fairly new Sect, with only a handful of actual locations throughout the United States of America. The Church of Eternal Life is there to help common Vampires understand what they have become and most times The Church of Eternal Life does -Not- adhere to the rules of The Master of that City. The Church of Eternal Life is much like a Modern religion for the religion...less. There is a Director and their staff. Only recently has Kansas City aquired a Church of Eternal Life branch and it is slowly coming together. The ways of The Church of Eternal Life are fairly simple, their goal is to help Vampires remain citizens, their goal is to keep those who are Vampires and do not wish to be a part of the politics, higher-ways and formulation of the Old Fashioned Vampire. The Church of Eternal Life also is there to make sure Vampires do not turn into monsters, or be swallowed in the pit of egotism at the Vampire's above-human powers. Rarely will a Vampire from the Church of Eternal Life commit a crime that will warrant an Order of Execution, but in everything there are those that stray.

12. Order of Execution: Vampires are indeed seen as Citizens, they have the same rights as Humans do, voting, paying taxes, police support, community activities, etc. Vampires are seen as Equals, but only to an extent. The Government does see them as special beings and are treated as such when they break the laws. In fact, Vampires still struggle with being treated differently, this being when a Vampire breaks the law. If a Vampire was to rob a bank, use their gifts, i.e. mind rolling, strength, speed and all other traits that seperate them from Humans, an Order of Execution will be issued to them, much like a Warrant for Arrest, only in this case, it is a Warrant for Death. The Federal Marshall (formerly called a Liscensed Vampire Executioner) will hunt the Vampire (or any other Preternatural Creature who breaks these same laws) down and destroy them by any means neccessary. There is no exception to this, even if the Vampire is innocent the Federal Marshall will still Kill On Site. This also means that the Vampire in question has until that Federal Marshall finds them to clear their name if they are indeed innocent, but if they can not do this, the just as the days of old the Vampire will be destroyed and no one will question it further.
