History:
The Burkes. A form of Kansas City Royalty, Harris Burke, an accomplished attorney who's career was very fast-paced. Harris Burke became the District Attorney for Kansas City Missouri before being partner in a firm, which was unheard of in Kansas City. During his numerous terms as DA, Harris made partner in a firm that was at the time was the best in the county, however with Harris joining the firm became the best in the Metro Area. Burgess, Cline and Burke carved out a name for themselves that will forever be part of Kansas City's history. Harris was making his public campaign for Attorney General so his family could stay together when the war began.
Debra Burke, or as she was known publicly... Mayor Debra Burke was born Debra Adams, her father having the most successful chain of car dealerships in the Metro Area, gave Debra the best in life. Her contributions in Kansas City gained her high marks and praises, some that were not public, however she still faught for them without want of recognition. Working dilligently on both sides of the river, she has held many titles in her career, increasing revenue and even being at the forefront of equality rights. Debra was making her public campaign for spot on the Congress as State Representative for Missouri so her family could stay together when the war began.
The power-couple Burkes had two children... twins. Parker Burke was born to a mountain of expectations. Society rejoiced in the coming of the prince and that announcement brought a positive feeling throughout the Metro Area. Parker's twin sister, Lenore, was the same story. Growing up, Parker was quick to defend Lenore, naturally falling into the role of big brother, his scrapes began to give him a negative reputation. Strangely enough during puberty, Parker mellowed out a bit, still a passionate, intense child, he began thinking more and learning the value of consequences. Some saw it was the nurturing of his family and Lenore's assistance on it since she was never a meak person. Sometimes Parker blames her for the scrapes, but nothing substantial.
In High School the pressure was so harsh that when rebellion hit it became a running debate in certain parts of the city... who rebelled first? Parker or Lenore. Half the time Parker says Lenore rebelled first and dragged him along to take all the blame. Then other half Parker says he rebelled first and Lenore just tagged along. But after far too much property damage and Harris Burke spending too much time in court over his children's antics... Parker was sent off to the Army. More specifically... the Army Rangers.
In the Army, Parker excelled naturally at infantry and rescue. Being a natural at weaponry for rather secretive reasons, he was repremanded a lot for not following orders about his weapons. His superiors could not figure it out, they were baffled at the fact Parker was excellent with weapons... however refused to use them in certain situations. Just as he had been given indefinite leave for serving, the war hit.
Parker was on his way home when he got the hysterical call. The bus Parker was on crashed and even to this day no one can explain how all the passengers on the bus got only superficial injuries yet... by the time the emergency crew got there... the bus was reduced to ashes and Parker... was gone. He got home to console his sister and mourn with her... mourn the death of their parents. Somehow they pulled together and made the arrangements, Parker even being very adamant that his sister's tears never make it public. He would not have images of his sister crying out there and he would never give his reasons for this. If it's not blatently obvious why.
That was all one year ago. Black Sky is strongly in the KC Metro area and Parker Burke is deep within the war that people say is over. But oh no... not for the Burkes... there is only one end to this war and that end... will be epic.
